Shannon is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT).
Her journey with biomechanics and the mind body connection began at a young age as a competitive figure skater. Her years of figure skating facilitated her understanding of the connection between core stability, strength, balance, flexibility, body awareness, artistry and controlled movement.
Her passion for fitness continued with weight training and running. Dealing with Plantar Fasciitis for many years, Shannon embraced Pilates as a full body low-impact solution to continue building strength, tone muscles, increase flexibility and improve balance.
Shannon has Comprehensive Pilates Certification in Mat, Reformer, Springboard, Chair, Trapeze Table/Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Magic Circle.
Shannon is a certified Barre Above® with Pilates Focus Instructor. She is a Qualified TRX Suspension Training® Instructor, Bosu® Next Generation Balance Training and Bosu® Pilates Core Power Instructor. With a special interest in self-myofascial release, Shannon is a qualified FMT Mobility Specialist.
Shannon has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary and Master of Education Degree from the University of Portland. She has her Permanent Professional Teaching Certificate and a diverse teaching background as a past school administrator and Kindergarten thru Grade 12 teacher.
She was a finalist for Calgary’s Top Fitness Instructor Award, 2019. Shannon is passionate about helping others to become their strongest, healthiest and most balanced self.
Shannon teaches both individual and group Pilates classes.
